What caused Wikipedia website traffic to decline?

Marshall Miller of the Wikimedia Foundation has revealed astonishing truth that website visits have decreased significantly by 8 percent compared to preceding year.

The two main reasons been cited for dropping traffic were attributed to neural networks and short videos.

These changes in users behavior also was observed at the time of updating of bot tracking system.

The latest trend towards using generative AI among users of Google search engine for their queries has skipped visiting pages of Wikipedia.

Many users preferred to get answers generated from artificial intelligence either by reading or watching short videos

Overall drop in Wikipedia traffic has also impacted declined in activity of editing volunteering and donations. To cope this unexpected situation, Wikipedia has decided to come up with a new plan to develop content attribution system to attract visitors.
