Why Nico's good reputation tarnished by German officer?

In the coastal Greek city, there lived a boy named Nico Krispis, famous in entire neighborhood, and community that he never speaks a lie. He was only eleven years old in age. Nicole's habit of speaking of truth made him popular even in school and one of his schoolmate Fannie loved him.

But Sebastian who was Nico elder's brother in relation felt jealous because of liking from Fannie. Suddenly when WWII broke out and duo of brothers separated and would take years if not months in tracing out each other.

But unfortunate incident had happened, a German officer used Nico's good reputation in dishonest way to save his German soldiers. From that day, Nico's reputation dumped in tatters, he wandered by changing his name wherever he travels. But in that despair, was looking for a way to retrieve his honest symbol back.
