How Scientists have created highly efficient battery after recycling used medical face masks?

To get rid
of the problem of the accumulating number of used medical face masks in the
trash, scientists have found a way out. They developed a high-efficiency battery from recycling, not very expensive but the
cheapest one.
How they did it?
First scientists began passing ultrasound so that used medical face masks could be disinfected. Then they immersed disinfected medical face mask into the ink made up of graphene and heated the same with temperature up to 140 degrees Celsius.
The purpose
of doing this was to get conductive granules that paved the way for the
creation of working electrodes. From there, the insulating layer has been
separated from used medical face masks. The overall composition is saturated
with electrolytes and shielded with a protective shell develop from other types
of medical trash – blister packages for medicines.
Scientific results
While
describing the initial tests, researchers said that the battery made from used
medical face masks had achieved the 99.7
Wh/Kg energy density that was not sufficient and thus had lagged behind
while comparing the density of lithium-ion battery range from 100 to 265 Wh/Kg. In order to achieve
that energy density level of the lithium-ion battery, they added perovskite
nanoparticles of calcium oxide and cobalt to the electrodes. Following this,
scientists achieved their desired outcome, and in that way, the energy density
level reaches 208 Wh/Kg.
Newly created battery capable of retaining 82 % percent and could last for one and half thousand charging cycles, according to the claim made by scientific researchers.
