We must have seen the skyscrapers from all over the world, either by visiting physically or by watching videos on social media platforms by influencers. But had you ever thought in mind, how that tallest structure must had built by engineers and architects? So let's continue reading about skyscraper.

Steel utilization in the construction of mid-rise/high-rise buildingssuperstructure, and tower cannot be underestimated because of its strongest material usage in supporting concrete structures that could be easily bolted, welded, or riveted into place.

The fact is that Steel is an alloy and the strongest material manufactured in the steel industry by mixing iron and less than 2 % carbon, 1 % manganese, and tiny amounts of sulphursiliconoxygen, and phosphorus together. Industry of construction dependent on steel for accomplishing its civil engineering projects throughout the world.

It's the number of floors that reveal buildings by calling mid-rise or high-rise or skyscraper. The building between 5 to 12 floors is known as Mid-Rise, 13 floors or above is High-Rise and 40 floors over is known as Skyscraper.

Any structure of building measured at a height of 150 meters a “Taller”, 300 meters (984 ft.) a “Super Tall” and 600 meters (1,969 ft.) or beyond “Mega Tall” came into categories of skyscrapers according to various organizations of Europe and the United States.

The skeleton structure of steel makes skyscrapers. Creation of huge girder grids pave the way in a riveting of metal beams across every end in the development of vertical columns which play a pivotal role in strengthening and reinforcing the structure of building at every floor by connecting to horizontal girder beams.

When laying the foundation of Skyscrapers, builders, constructors & planners who built on rock instead of on softer materials would enable the structure less likely to fail. The problem of the soft ground is resolved by digging much deeper so that a deep basement could be established for a stronger foundation.

Rods of steel & beams inside steel or iron frame keep the strong winds away from falling down and supports the floors and walls of Skyscraper from any destruction & unfavorable situation.

The expertise of Civil engineers to construct skyscrapers as high as they want can reach at high as 8,849 meters of Mount Everest by spreading the basement wider. Maintenance on a continuous basis can extend the life of the tallest steel structure up to 100 years.

Although strong winds could move skyscrapers in various feet in either direction without causing any damage to its concrete steel structure albeit that horizontal movement causes the swaying of buildings like tree swaying could also be felt inside by occupiers of building on top floors.

It was Louis Henry Sullivan an Irish-American architect also called Father of Skyscrapers who laid the foundation of the early design of modern American architecture, designed several buildings in Chicago.

But the first skyscraper was designed by William LeBaron Jenney, a Chicago-based architect in 1884 by designing the Home Life Insurance Building, a nine-story high building built from the support of an iron frame. Later in 1891, he also designed a 16-story Manhattan building in Chicago.

The steel frame method during the construction of high-rise buildings made Chicago the birthplace of the skyscraper.

In New York, the first skyscraper called The Tower Building was also built using steel skeleton technique was 11 high stories building in 1889. High-rise structures like Park AvenueEmpire State Building, and others made New York City of Skyscrapers today.

95 the most skyscrapers in the world exists in China, followed by 31 United Arab Emirates and 28 United States. Hong Kong, New York City, Chicago, ShanghaiSingaporeTokyoToronto, and Kuala Lumpur come under the best skylines in the world.

Nearly more than 5 million tourists visited Eiffel Tower every year is renowned for its best monument ever built on steel structure is one of the early skyscrapers in Paris.

Burj Khalifa of Dubai is the tallest skyscraper in the world owned by Emaar Properties and consists of 163 floors and 828 meters (2,716.5 feet) in height. Although the tallest skyscraper world the record would be broken in coming years when under construction tallest structures would be completed and these are Burj Mubarak al-Kabir in KuwaitJeddah Tower in Saudi ArabiaDubai One Tower and Uptown Dubai Tower 1 both being built in the United Arab Emirates.

Now it’s time to put off writing about skyscraper, I thought you must have get something meaningful information. What skyscraper have you visited recently, would you like to share?
