MIH,
backed by Foxconn, showcased Project X, a miniature electric vehicle powered by
removable Gogoro scooter batteries, independent of traditional EV charging
stations at a Japan show.
The
Project X, a short, cute toy car, can accommodate a third person in the back,
but the space is limited by two angled Gogoro battery slots.
MIH
reports Project X can function as a driverless robotaxi with sliding doors for
easy passenger access. The Gogoro scooter, with two batteries, has a range of
around 160 km, though availability and battery usage are not specified.
Project X has the potential to revive the small electric vehicle segment, as automakers increasingly focus on bulky crossovers with large batteries.
